After writing the blog entry for yesterday we started to think about dinner. The Hotel Reo Cea claimed it had a restaurant, however the dining room was windowless and very dark at 7pm. We weren't too bothered since dinner is late in Spain so we played cards for a bit. 2 hours later we were getting very concerned, despite assurances from the woman behind the bar. The light did go on in the restaurant at one point but then went out again before we could get there. Eventually we just went in and our bar lady friend appeared with a menu. Only snag was we could only have a limited range of stuff and Sally could only have omelette. It was now rather late for Brits to be eating dinner and Sally was not impressed. I had pork loin again - not sure they could much else.
Breakfast wasn't much better either - toast and cake for me and just coffee for Sally, so we weren't sad to be on the road by 9:45. Our room smelt of smoke as well.
The town of Cistierna where I nearly got my spoke fixed - however 6pm seemed a bit late when you have a few miles left to ride. So the spoke stays broke. El radio roto as they say here.
Followed a railway line most of the day. Saw one train carrying coal and a couple of little passenger trains. Very quiet side road through La Ercina.
We only realised we were on the route of the Santiago de la Compostina pilgrimage when we saw this little ermita at the side of the road. I took this photo through a flap in the door because it was all shut up. I think the flap is there so you can make offerings of a financial variety.
We had our lunch sitting on a step at the back of the chapel.
The mountains are calling!
Another older chapel on the route.
The Canto del Gato B&B is lovely. Tea and cake!
