Unquera

Very wet first thing in Santander. It took quite a while to buy a train ticket to Barreda. Our first few attempts were in the wrong station as it turned out and not helped by our lack of Spanish. Once in the correct station it was simple and cheap. Got the 11:45 and arrived in Barreda at 12:16. Still a bit wet and windy. Stopped for lunch at a cafe where once again communication was something of an issue. I had egg and chips with chorizo and Sally had fried fish. The coast looks like Cornwall and the hills like Scotland. They even have our weather. Stopped at supermarket on way in to Unquera and then discovered i had a puncture. Arrived at b&b around 6:30. We have an apartment to ourselves or we assume we do since they speak no English. From my little Spanish i think they wanted us to haveca drink with them but pretty quickly worked out we were all on a loser with that.

Photo is from bedroom window. Weather forecast for tomorrow is like the Sunday one for Hartington.
